He first married Mary Brandenberg and they had 4 children: William (ca. 1843), Nancy E. (ca. 1844), James (ca. 1846), and Mary A. ca. 1849

   Elizabeth Minerva Biffle (or possibly Minerva Elizabeth Biffle)

   Died: after 1920 Place: Texas (possibly Erath County); she may be buried in Evergree Cemetery, Lipan,Texas
   Parents: Goldman Biffle and Elizabeth Boyd

  • 1860 U.S. Census, Hill County, Texas, M653-1297, p. 104; lists three older children (Thomas:1843; Nancy:1845; Mary: 1847) who may have been Henry's by a first marriage, they are too old to be Minerva's. Found on same pages as Henry Branch Barbee and Sorphronia, Thomas J. Duncan and Amanda, and John Biffle and Nancy, all are siblings of Minerva.
