  According to his daughter, Cynthia, he first moved to Illinois for a few months, then Missouri for four years, and finally, by 1860, he was in Texas where he ran a grist mill during the Civil War.

  • In her history, Cynthia speaks of a nephew Fred Biffle. Fred Biffle and Mr. Sweeney were organizers of Briscoe County, Texas.
